Job summary

SAM is seeking a Phase Manager to lead 3D laser scanning projects, directing field and office operations for accurate, timely results. You will oversee staffing, schedules, and quality control while maintaining client relations and budget awareness across multiple sites.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in laser scanning, expertise with Leica/NavVis, and leadership experience. Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD is a plus, with strong communication and multitasking abilities valued in this role.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in laser scanning.
• Proficiency with laser scanning registration using Leica and NavVis.
• Experience managing laser scanning deliverables.
• Leadership or team management experience in a laser scanning or geospatial environment.
• Proficiency with Revit or AutoCAD is a plus, but not required.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across field and office teams.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Execute project work plans and monitor resource needs for 3D laser scanning projects.
• Oversee field crew scheduling and office staff coordination to meet project deadlines.
• Manage hands‑on laser scanning projects in the field.
• Train, mentor, and manage staff, promoting technical growth and team performance.
• Communicate scope, safety requirements, and quality expectations clearly to field teams.
• Provide regular budget updates and resource utilization reports using project tracking tools.
• Manage QA/QC processes related to laser scanning field data and final deliverables.
• Review point clouds and geophysical data for accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to support proposal writing, budgeting, and change management.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsiveness and technical credibility.
• Travel up to 50% of the time to project sites.
• Represent SAM at meetings and presentations with clients, municipalities, and stakeholders.
