Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc seeks an Early Development Associate Medical Director to lead Phase 1 trial strategy, design and reporting. You will monitor safety and ensure scientific integrity as the internal Medical Monitor, while collaborating with cross-functional teams across Vertex to support the clinical development program.

The role emphasizes regulatory collaboration, protocol input, and external representation of Vertex in study conduct and reporting.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent ex-US medical degree required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Global clinical research experience and regulatory interaction experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Leads as Medical Lead for Phase 1 trials, overseeing study design, execution and reporting.
• Serves as internal Medical Monitor for safety and scientific integrity of enrolled subjects.
• Acts as liaison between Early Development and other Vertex groups (Research, Regulatory, Clinical Operations).
