Job summary

The Atlanta VA Health Care System is recruiting a Pharmacy Technician for the Pharmacy at the VA Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia. This role supports hospital staff by reading orders, obtaining medications in correct doses, and ensuring proper storage and inventory across the JMCAVAMC system 24/7.

Responsibilities include processing orders, maintaining DEA/FDA/USP compliance, and providing timely customer service. The schedule includes days with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a pharmacy procurement or inventory role is expected.
• Ability to read and interpret orders and stock requirements.

Responsibilities

• Process pharmaceutical and supply orders for a highly complex Pharmacy Service area.
• Ensure compliance with DEA, USP, FDA and VHA rules and contract procedures.
• Receive shipments and manage proper storage of medications and supplies.
• Support pharmacy management to provide timely customer service and maintain inventories.
• Work schedule includes 10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. with rotating weekends and holidays.
