Job summary

MyMichigan Health in Michigan is seeking an entry-level Pharmacy Technician in Training. After completing training, you will understand, dispense, and prepare medication orders, compound IVs, and stock the department while answering phones and aiding staff.

Applicants must enroll in a pharmacy training program on hire. You will perform aseptic and non-sterile compounding per USP guidelines, use dispensing technologies such as HER, and work under the pharmacist in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of annual exam for Aseptic Technique within 90 days of hire and every 6 months thereafter.
• Computer experience required.
• Good math skills (pass a standard test).
• Good organizational skills and ability to work under high pressure.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate with individuals and groups at all levels.
• Microsoft Windows competency is expected.

Responsibilities

• Runs reports, pulls medications and restocks automated dispensing machines; follows up on narcotic discrepancies.
• Performs sterile and non-sterile compounding per USP guidelines; maintains designated IV room areas.
• Prepares orders and maintains inventory for the pharmacy department.
• Fills and reconciles carts/IV batches using HER and dispensing technologies.
• Repackages bulk medications into Unit Dose form.
• Replaces and fills floor stock and delivers to appropriate areas; completes monthly floor stock.
