Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy experience or enrolment in a pharmacy technician program.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification within 2 years of hire.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; further certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and initiates service transactions.
• Refer all inquiries to pharmacist for patient-care/consultations.
• Input patient and prescription data to produce labels and assist in dispensing.
• Match prescriptions with labels and prepare medications for pharmacist check.
• Prepare unit-dose medications in hospital settings when applicable.
• Process requisitions and restock drugs and supplies per schedule.
• Assist with medication distribution and OTC products under supervision.
• Handle transactions and cash processing with receipts and verification.
