Job summary

You will complete didactic coursework, simulations, and hands-on training to prepare for the National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) and Rhode Island licensure progression.

Qualifications

• High-school graduate or equivalent and 18+ years old.
• Obtain and maintain Rhode Island Pharmacy Technician I licensure prior to training; sit for CPhT exam and certify within 6 months after program completion.
• Strong reading comprehension and math aptitude.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Participates in an RI BOP approved Arkansas Brown University Health Pharmacy Technician Training Program and completes coursework, exams, and training on time.
• Supports pharmacists in preparing medications and pharmaceutical supplies under supervision.
• Assists in inventory control and distribution to automated dispensing cabinets and operating rooms.
• Gains understanding of RFID-enabled inventory management solutions and controlled substances inventory processes.
• Participates in medication delivery to patient care areas and patient rooms.
