Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Trainee to assist pharmacists in interpreting, preparing, labeling, and distributing pharmacy products for patient use, considering patient age and other factors.

Under supervision, you will enter orders, affix labels, stock drugs, and assist with sterile and non-sterile compounding following Ohio regulations, contributing to safe patient care and accurate reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High School or GED (Required)
• Pharmacy Technician Trainee License - Ohio Board of Pharmacy

Responsibilities

• Accepting new written, faxed or electronic prescription orders from a prescriber or prescriber's agent.
• Entering information into and retrieving information from a database or patient profile.
• Preparing and affixing labels for dispensed medications.
• Stocking dangerous drugs and retrieving those drugs from inventory.
• Counting and pouring dangerous drugs into containers.
• Placing dangerous drugs into containers prior to dispensing by a pharmacist.
• Non-sterile drug and sterile drug compounding following required training.
• Packaging and selling a dangerous drug to a patient or patient representative.
• Sending or receiving electronic prescriptions between pharmacies.
