Job summary

UPMC Falk Pharmacy, part of the Outpatient Pharmacy Team, seeks a Pharmacy Technician Trainee to support medication preparation, labeling, and distribution under a licensed pharmacist. You’ll collaborate with clinics and staff to remove barriers to patient access and ensure accurate processing of prescriptions.

Open hours are 7:30 am–5:30 pm, Monday–Friday, with rotating shifts (7:15–3:45 and 9:15–5:45). No weekends or holidays required; competitive salary and career ladder with benefits are

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• PA State Board of Pharmacy Registration required for all PA locations.
• Act 34 clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in filling medication orders with correct labeling, counting and stocking.
• Prepare proper oral medications for patients under pharmacist supervision.
• Distribute medications and manage medication cassettes and carts per policy.
• Retrieve discontinued meds and process returns/credits as needed.
• Maintain positive service relationships during distribution and with hospital staff.
