Job summary

UPMC Chartwell in Erie, PA is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician Trainee to join our team. The role supports sterile and nonsterile medication preparation, inventory management, and distribution under regulatory guidelines.

A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered; weekend/holiday shifts are required in a rotating schedule. Qualifications include a PA Pharmacy Tech Trainee registration or licensure, Act 34 clearance, and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Pharmacy Tech Trainee Registration in PA OR Licensed Pharmacy Technician.
• Act 34 clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Filling: prepare cytotoxic and hazardous drugs using aseptic technique.
• General: maintain inventory in pharmacy stock areas and automated dispensing systems.
• Distribute medications and ensure safe storage per regulations.
• Assist in training pharmacy personnel and students.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and PBM contracting requirements.
• Fill medication orders with correct labeling and counting.
