Job summary

  • Contact outside departments for issue resolution related to pharmacy processes.
  • Review patient safety events.
  • Participate in organizational and departmental process improvement initiatives and provide leadership for the team.
  • Develop and/or maintain policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional projects and tasks as assigned.

Overview

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute‑designated cancer center in Washington. With a track record of global leadership in bone marrow transplantation, HIV/AIDS prevention, immunotherapy and COVID‑19 vaccines, Fred Hutch operates eight clinical‑care sites that provide medical oncology, infusion, radiation, proton therapy and related services. Position Summary

The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor designs, develops and implements workflows for the pharmacy operations area. The role reports directly to pharmacy leadership and manages the daily operations of the pharmacy team, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures, regulations and quality standards. The position is full time, based at the South Lake Union Campus, and weekdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with occasional evening and weekend shifts as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Manage day‑to‑day pharmacy workflows.
  • Proactively design, improve and operationalize workflows.
  • Appropriately delegate projects and responsibilities to the Lead Pharmacy Technician or other technicians.
  • Assist the Pharmacy Operations Manager with operational issues requiring coordination across pharmacy teams.

Team Management
  • Manage the hiring and recruitment process for pharmacy personnel as applicable to the department.
  • Ensure appropriate scheduling and staffing levels, including compliance with leave policies.
  • Verify accuracy of timesheets and other administrative records.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback as needed.
  • Oversee pharmacy staff development, new‑employee orientation, ongoing competency evaluation, and training on national quality assurance standards and regulations.
Qualifications

Pre‑Employment Drug Screening

All offers of employment in the pharmacy department are conditional on successful completion of a pre‑employment drug test in accordance with Fred Hutch policy.

Compensation and Work Hours

The annual base salary range is $80,476.00 to $120,681.00, based on experience and qualifications. The role is full time at the South Lake Union Campus, Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with occasional evening and weekend shifts as required.
