Job summary

Inova Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Student to join our team on a full-time basis, Monday through Friday with rotating days and evenings. This role provides hands-on training within our pharmacy operations across multiple Inova facilities in the D.C. area.

The student will complete didactic modules and experiential rotations at assigned sites, with regular check-ins and guidance from the program director. A High School or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Completes the didactic modules of the Pharmacy Technician Training program at the pace set by the director of the program with a passing grade on each module.
• Asks for assistance if a concept or module is difficult to complete and more assistance is needed.
• If the maximum number of attempts at a unit test are exceeded, student must ask for remediation of the subject and director of program can authorize additional attempts once the remediation is completed.
• Modules include Basic Pharmaceutics, Basic Anatomy and Physiology, Vaccines, Pharmacology, Pharmacy Operations, Billing, Special Medication Handling, Inventory Control, Emergency Preparedness, Sterile and non-sterile compounding, Unit-dose packaging, Communication and Calculations.
• Completes simulations as required.
• Completes experiential modules at the sites assigned and requirements of each site must be met.
• Attends regular check ins with program director.
• Completes and passes final review test with passing score.
