Job summary

Jefferson University Hospitals seeks a Pharmacy Technician to assist in preparation and filling of medications for inpatient and outpatient services in Philadelphia. You will replenish Pyxis machines, monitor temperatures, and support clinical teams with accurate dispensing and inventory management.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, 2 years hospital pharmacy tech experience, and sterile compounding experience; CPhT/RPT upon hire are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of hospital pharmacy technician experience.
• 1 year of sterile compounding experience.
• CPhT certification and PA RPT upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares drug orders from physicians for dispensing by a pharmacist.
• Replenishes Pyxis machines and monitors refrigerator temperatures.
• Counts, compounds and repackages pharmaceuticals per procedures.
• Dispenses medications and assists in inventory management.
• Performs billing/crediting to ensure proper billing and documentation.
• Maintains IV preparation aseptic techniques and transports IVs.
• Completes inspections and maintains department competencies.
• Maintains clean work areas and restocks carts and supplies.
