Job summary

WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist in drug distribution and sterile IV preparation under pharmacist supervision. You will read orders, prepare medications, deliver to patient care areas, and manage drug supplies for multiple units.

The role supports controlled substances, participates in inventory, labels products, and helps train other technicians. Strong attention to accuracy and adherence to state board and institutional guidelines is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current licensure as required by state boards where services will be provided (PA, OH, WV, MD).
• PTCB or NHA certification preferred or required within 15 months if experience >=2 years.

Responsibilities

• Read physicians’ orders and prepare medications for dispensing.
• Deliver medications to patient-care units and manage drug supplies.
• Prepare and label prepackaged medications and maintain related records.
• Replenish inventory and replace outdated medications.
• Maintain accurate records for controlled substances.
• Assist training of pharmacy technicians and ensure compliance with regulations.
