Job summary

The role involves learning toward national certification, supporting dispensing activities under supervision, and maintaining HIPAA confidentiality. A high school diploma and ongoing certification are required, with vaccine administration certification

Qualifications

• Demonstrates logical/scientific thinking for problems.
• Performs arithmetic, algebraic, and geometric calculations accurately.
• Composes correspondence, follows manuals, evaluates technical data.
• Counsels and advises customers professionally with patients and team members.
• Maintains discretion handling confidential patient information.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service with a smile and learn customers' names.
• Handle inquiries not requiring a pharmacist’s expertise.
• Accept new prescriptions and telephoned refill requests as directed by pharmacist.
• Contact doctors to obtain refills as needed.
• Gather and maintain accurate patient information for prescriptions.
• Assist pharmacists in preparing prescription products for dispensing.
• Label prescriptions and prepare for mailing.
