Job Summary

The MUSC Specialty Pharmacy operates across two sites: the Hollings Cancer Center (HCC) Outpatient Pharmacy and the MUSC Mail Order Pharmacy. Both are fully integrated within the health system and accredited by URAC and ACHC.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations in the HCC Outpatient Pharmacy, including data entry, prescription claims processing, medication fulfillment, mailing, and point‑of‑sale activities.
• Manage inventory processes such as medication ordering, receiving, and ongoing maintenance to ensure accurate stock levels.
• Handle shipping exceptions, notifying patients of any delays and coordinating with clinical teams to minimize impact.
• Operate in the MUSC Mail Order Pharmacy, supporting medication fulfillment, packing & shipping, inventory receiving, and maintenance of inventory.
• Maintain and troubleshoot pharmacy technology to ensure optimal system performance.
• Ensure timely communication and coordination to support a seamless patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or Equivalent.
• 0–6 months of work experience.
• Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP), maintained throughout employment.
• Must obtain and maintain Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) within the specified time frames: existing team members within 1 year of 11/1/2023, new hires within 6 months, and new members in accredited training programs within 30 days of program completion.
