ARKANSAS CHILDREN'S is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Specialist - Education & Training in Little Rock. The role leads onboarding for technicians, coordinates annual competency validation, and develops training programs to meet regulatory requirements and standards of patient safety within Pharmacy Services.

You will collaborate with pharmacy leadership to promote workforce consistency, support career ladder progression, and drive continuous learning and competency across the team.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - PTCB and AR State Board certification required.

Salary:

Most new hires start between $20.50-$25.60 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

The Pharmacy Technician Specialist - Education & Training serves as the lead technical resource for technician onboarding, competency validation, and ongoing professional development within Pharmacy Services. This role is responsible for designing, coordinating, and maintaining standardized training programs to ensure technicians meet regulatory requirements, departmental expectations, and operational excellence standards. The Specialist partners with pharmacy leadership to promote workforce consistency, strengthen career ladder progression, and support a culture of continuous learning and patient safety.


Required Education:


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)


Recommended Education:


  • Associate's Degree in a related field of study.


Required Certifications:


  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - PTCB - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), Pharmacy Technician - AR State Board of Pharmacy

Description


  1. Develops, implements, and maintains standardized onboarding and orientation programs for pharmacy technicians.

  2. Coordinates annual competency validation processes, including sterile and non-sterile workflow competencies.

  3. Designs and updates training materials, standard work documentation, and competency checklists.

  4. Serves as primary liaison for technician career ladder development and advancement preparation.

  5. Conducts direct observation and workflow assessments to ensure adherence to policies and best practices.

  6. Supports implementation of new technologies, automation, and workflow changes through structured education plans.

  7. Partners with Pharmacy Leadership to address performance gaps through targeted training interventions.

  8. Assists with documentation and tracking of regulatory-required training and continuing education compliance.

  9. Promotes a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement across technician teams.
