The Pharmacy Technician Specialist – Education & Training at Arkansas Children's leads onboarding and ongoing competency validation for pharmacy technicians within Pharmacy Services. You will design training materials, coordinate annual competency processes, and support workforce development and patient safety initiatives.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and maintains standardized onboarding and orientation programs for pharmacy technicians.
  • Coordinates annual competency validation processes, including sterile and non-sterile workflows.
  • Designs training materials, standard work documentation, and competency checklists.
  • Serves as liaison for technician career ladder development and advancement preparation.
  • Conducts direct observation and workflow assessments to ensure adherence to policies.
  • Supports implementation of new technologies, automation, and workflow changes through structured education plans.
  • Partners with Pharmacy Leadership to address performance gaps through targeted training interventions.
  • Assists with documentation and tracking of regulatory-required training and continuing education compliance.
  • Promotes a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement across technician teams.

The Pharmacy Technician Specialist – Education & Training serves as the lead technical resource for technician onboarding, competency validation, and ongoing professional development within Pharmacy Services. This role is responsible for designing, coordinating, and maintaining standardized training programs to ensure technicians meet regulatory requirements, departmental expectations, and operational excellence standards. The Specialist partners with pharmacy leadership to promote workforce consistency, strengthen career ladder progression, and support a culture of continuous learning and patient safety.
