We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician/ Science Manufacturing Technician to join our team within the Pharmacy Production Unit at the Royal Gwent Hospital.
The Production Unit provides a comprehensive aseptic preparation service, including the preparation of injectable systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) and parenteral nutrition for neonatal and adult patients across the health board.
This post will involve organising the Production service's day-to-day activities, supervising staff and undertaking accuracy checks of aseptically prepared products.
NHS Wales is in the process of creating the Transforming Access to Medicines Service (TrAMs) which will be hosted by NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP). The current service provided by Aneurin Bevan University Health Board and this post, may transfer to NWSSP as part of the TrAMs programme. Transforming Access to Medicines - NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership
The role will involve coordinating workload and supervising staff within the Pharmacy Production team. Working as part of the team , the post holder will help to maintain and develop the technical aspects of the service to ensure the items prepared meet the needs of our patients.
