Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina in Lancaster, SC is seeking a PRN Pharmacy Technician to support retail and hospital pharmacy operations. Under supervision, you will perform dispensing support, order entry, IV admixture prep, floor stock, and Pyxis filling.

Qualifications include High School diploma or GED, completion of a Pharmacy Technician program or currently pursuing, and current South Carolina registration. This is an as-needed position with variable hours based on department needs.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy and/or staff pharmacists, the pharmacy technician is responsible for general distribution activities, including but not limited to, computer order entry, medication order fill, preparation of intravenous admixtures, floor stock and Pyxis med station medication filling, medication rounds and drug ordering and procurement activities, or other duties as assigned

PRN Status Clause:

This is a PRN as-needed position, you must be available to work at least 1 full shift bi-weekly, as needed according to departmental demands. You may be required to work additional hours if requested by your supervisor to accomplish work objectives. Work hours may vary (increase or decrease) depending on the needs of the unit.

Additional Job Description

Education: High School Graduate or GED required, Graduate from Pharmacy Technician Program or currently pursuing.

Licenses/Certificates: Current registration as Pharmacy Technician in South Carolina
