Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare West in Houston, TX, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician PRN to support pharmacy operations across nursing units. You will assist pharmacists, deliver meds, process discharges, and help maintain inventory.

No travel required; a Pharmacy Technician license and High School diploma are required, with IV certification (CSPT) preferred. The role offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities to contribute to patient care in a respected hospital system.

Qualifications

Pharmacy Technician License required.
High School Diploma or GED required.
IV Cert (CSPT) certification required or preferred.

Responsibilities

Proactively works toward and achieves goals set in the evaluation period.
Makes delivery and pickup rounds to nursing units.
Fill medication orders for checking by a pharmacist and deliver to nursing units after pharmacist verification.
Process discharges and transfers (cart fill, pickup and credit discharge meds).
Process IVs, Chemo, and TPNs; reconcile IVs, Chemo, and TPNs.
Restock work area; set daily medication carts for RPh checking and deliver carts after RPh verification.
Repackage non-unit dose medications in Central; generate and deliver computer reports to nursing units.
Check expiration dates in assigned areas and maintain a neat, clean work area.
Comply with department policies including attendance, scheduling, and on-time reporting.
