We are aggressively seeking a Prior Authorizations Pharmacy Technician to join a large Healthcare organization. This opportunity offers flexible hours, competitive salary, and growth potential.

The position requires a Prior Authorizations Pharmacy Technician who can provide high level service and attention to patients.

Daily Responsibilities

The essential functions of a Prior Authorizations Pharmacy Technician are to provide expertise and customer service support to members, customers, and/or providers. Take incoming requests for prior authorizations for formulary and non-formulary medications, ensure high level of customer service and productivity. Receive requests via fax or telephone from providers\' offices and pharmacists. Provide clinical review for authorizations in keeping with legal and contractual requirements, including turn around times (TATs) and service level agreements (SLAs). Document interactions clearly, accurately, and professionally per requirements.

• Using established criteria and guidelines, receive and process prior authorization requests for medications not inherently covered on a member\'s prescription drug plan
• Answer prior authorization inquiries via calls or faxes and research/formulary and benefit issues
• Resolve issues and complaints in a timely manner
• Performs other duties as assigned by management
• Handle inbound phone requests and gather member data to provide information for Pharmacist consultations
• Work station tasks including speaking/listening, computer use
• Service center environment with moderate noise level

Shift

• Available for any 8-hour shift between 5am and 11pm Monday through Saturday
• Training hours: 8am-5pm Monday to Friday
• Overtime and holidays as required

Requirements

• HS Diploma
• Active Pharmacy Technician license in the state
• Knowledge of Prior Authorizations or Pre-certifications
• Knowledge of Insurance experience (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial)
• Computer skills required (MS Excel, Word, Outlook)
