Job summary

Tom Thumb Supermarket is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to ensure accurate prescription processing and patient care under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

You will handle data entry, medication preparation, and customer inquiries while maintaining records and staying compliant with HIPAA and state/federal regulations. The role supports daily pharmacy operations in a fast-paced environment, requiring attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Board registration or licensure required where applicable.
• Ability to operate computers, registers, and pharmacy systems.
• Successful completion of required pharmacy training programs and technician development requirements.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy procedures, prescription processing, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Proficiency in basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Process prescriptions and data entry under pharmacist supervision.
• Prepare medications and labeling; ensure accuracy and safety.
• Assist customers with questions and direct more complex inquiries to the pharmacist.
• Maintain records, restock supplies, and keep workspace clean in a compliant manner.
• Follow HIPAA and state/federal regulations to protect patient information.
