Minimum Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and, if PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in their respective operations.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Perform duties like entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding dispensing and quality improvement.
• Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party prescription claims.
• Support inventory management activities and maintain knowledge of asset protection techniques.
• Assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Develop relationships with the local medical community and support pharmacy outreach efforts.
• Ensure the pharmacy environment is stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Follow all company policies, maintain respectful relationships, and complete assigned tasks.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our training program and/or state certification requirements.
• Attend requested training and acquire continuing education credits to stay updated in healthcare and pharmacy developments.

Additional requirements include fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico), and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
