Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in system operation.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients, greet them, and offer assistance with products and services. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practices under pharmacist supervision, complying with all policies and procedures.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying accuracy, and assisting with workflow scheduling.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to quality policies.
• Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party claims.
• Support inventory management, clinical services, and external healthcare provider relations.
• Maintain a clean, organized pharmacy environment and respect coworker relationships.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program or state certification.
• Attend training sessions and acquire continuing education credits to stay updated in healthcare and pharmacy developments.

Qualifications

External Basic Qualifications

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

• Six months of retail experience preferred.
• Previous Walgreens experience preferred.
• Good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
• Good computer skills and knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification preferred.
