Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations. Assist in other Pharmacy Department duties following company policies and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in pharmacy system and register operations.
3. Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure satisfaction.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under supervision, ensuring compliance with policies, including entering patient and drug info, filling prescriptions, verifying accuracy, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding dispensing and quality improvement.
• Handle sales transactions and assist customers in locating products.
• Process third-party claims and perform clerical duties as assigned.
• Support inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and handling claims for overages, shortages, or damages.
• Assist in clinical services, such as collecting samples and coordinating with healthcare providers.
• Maintain good relationships with the medical community through outreach and detailing.
• Ensure the pharmacy environment is stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Follow all company policies and maintain respectful coworker relationships.
• Complete assigned tasks and special projects.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our training program and/or state registration. Certification may be required for promotion.
• Attend training and acquire continuing education credits to stay current with healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
