Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations. Support other Pharmacy Department duties as per company policies and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in pharmacy system and register operations.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug info, filling prescriptions, verifying accuracy, and assisting in workflow management.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to error and quality improvement policies.
• Follow Good Faith Dispensing policies during prescription activities.
• Handle sales registration, cash collection, and assist in locating products.
• Manage non-urgent phone calls, including those to physicians.
• Process third-party claims and support inventory management activities.
• Assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Support relationship building with the medical community through outreach.
• Maintain a clean, stocked, and orderly pharmacy environment.
• Comply with company policies and foster respectful coworker relationships.
• Complete assigned tasks and special projects as needed.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state certification. Certification is required for promotion to senior technician.
• Attend training and continuing education to stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

Additional requirements include fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico), and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
