Responsibilities

1. In accordance with state and federal regulations, assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy. Assist in other Pharmacy Department duties per company policies.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist with and coach in pharmacy system operation if PTCB certified. Assist cashiers with pharmacy cash register operations.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and codes of conduct.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions. Support workflow management.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to error and quality policies.
• Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party claims efficiently.
• Support inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and handling related claims.
• Assist in clinical services and coordinate with healthcare providers as needed.
• Maintain the pharmacy environment, ensuring it is stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Follow all policies and maintain respectful coworker relationships.
• Complete assigned tasks and special projects.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our training program and/or state registration. Certification may be a condition for promotion.
• Attend training sessions and acquire continuing education credits to stay current in healthcare and pharmacy news and developments.

Additional requirements include being fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico), and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
