Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in operating pharmacy systems and registers.
3. Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance, resolving issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practices under pharmacist supervision, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and codes of conduct.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medications, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding dispensing and quality improvement.
• Handle sales transactions, including cash handling and assisting customers in locating products.
• Process third-party prescription claims and perform clerical duties as assigned.
• Support inventory management activities and maintain proper storage and handling of pharmaceuticals.
• Assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Build and maintain relationships with the medical community through outreach and detailing.
• Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized pharmacy environment.
• Follow all company policies, maintain respectful relationships, and complete assigned tasks.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our training program and/or state certification requirements. Certification may be a condition for promotion.
• Attend requested training sessions and acquire continuing education credits to stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

Additional requirements include fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico) and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
