Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations. Support other Pharmacy Department duties as per company policies.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist with and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers as applicable.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients, greet them, offer assistance, resolve issues, and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits, with team members.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practices under supervision, including entering patient and drug info, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
• Follow policies on Good Faith Dispensing during prescription activities.
• Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party claims efficiently.
• Support inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
• Assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Build relationships with the medical community through outreach and detailing.
• Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy environment.
• Comply with all policies, maintain respectful relationships, and complete assigned tasks.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the training program and/or state certification. Certification is required for promotion to senior technician.
• Attend training sessions and acquire continuing education credits to stay updated in healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
