Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and support pharmacy operations. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers.
3. Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Build strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practices under supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding dispensing and quality improvement.
• Handle sales, cash register operations, and customer assistance in locating products.
• Support pharmacy inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and maintaining stock.
• Assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Develop relationships with the medical community through outreach and detailing.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy environment.
• Follow all company policies, maintain respectful relationships, and complete assigned tasks.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through training and/or state registration. Certification may be required for promotion.
• Attend training and acquire continuing education credits to stay updated in healthcare and pharmacy developments.
