Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital in Daytona Beach is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support daily pharmacy operations on a per diem basis. You will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and perform medication preparation, dispensing, and related duties in a hospital setting.

You will pick up drug orders, ensure accurate delivery, assist with billing, and maintain formulary compliance. A high school diploma or GED is required, and state certification is preferred where applicable.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred unless required by the State.

Responsibilities

• Complete a variety of pharmacy tasks and services within established policies and guidelines.
• Work under the direction of a licensed pharmacist and be able to work independently.
• Pick up drug orders at nursing stations and prepare medications under pharmacist supervision.
• Deliver the correct quantities of medications to the appropriate patient areas.
• Assist with accurate billing and crediting of patient medications.
• Maintain drugs in the pharmacy per the Drug Formulary, including ordering, receiving, storing and paperwork.
• Monitor doses administered according to the Medication Administration Record and narcotics controls.
