Select Specialty Hospital Hampton Roads in Newport News, VA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support daily pharmacy operations under a licensed pharmacist. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred unless required by state.

Responsibilities

• Handle daily pharmacy operations under supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Pick up drug orders at nursing stations and prepare medications.
• Deliver medications to correct patient areas.
• Assist with billing and crediting of patient medications.
• Maintain drugs in the pharmacy per formulary, including ordering, receiving, storing and paperwork.
• Monitor doses per the Medication Administration Record and narcotics sign-out records.
• Maintain forms and reports for control of narcotics and other controlled substances.
