Job summary

Palmdale Regional Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists with preparing and distributing medications, maintaining inventory and records. You will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in accordance with procedures and state/federal regulations.

Qualified candidates have 1–3 years hospital experience and hold a California Pharmacy Technician license; CPI is required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Hospital experience in a pharmacy setting is required or preferred.
• Associate's degree is preferred.
• Pharmacy Technician License by California Board of Pharmacy.
• CPI certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications.
• Maintain drug inventory and maintenance of records.
• Operate under supervision within standard procedures and regulatory guidelines.

Position Description:

Pharmacy Technicians, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department. Pharmacy Technicians assist the pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory and maintenance of records. Pharmacy Technicians function in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines and state and federal regulations. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.

Qualifications

Job Duties/Responsibilities Requirements:

• Minimum one to three years' hospital experience required. Pyxis experience with knowledge of Pyxis reports.


• General education level completion. Associate's degree preferred.


• Pharmacy Technician License by California Board of Pharmacy.


• CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
