Job summary

Palmdale Regional Medical Center, part of Universal Health Services, is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care through integrated drug distribution and patient counseling. You will monitor patient therapies and offer drug information while supervising supportive staff.

The role requires a California Pharmacist license, Pyxis experience, and CPI compliance, with opportunities to grow within UHS’ network of hospitals and facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy required.
• Current Pharmacist licensure in California.
• CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
• Pyxis experience with Pyxis reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care through integrated drug distribution and patient counseling.
• Monitor patient therapies and provide drug information.
• Supervise and direct supportive staff; aid Director of Pharmacy in absence.
• Ensure CPI requirements and California licensure are maintained.

Position Description:

Staff Pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care through integrated drug distribution, patient counseling and teaching. Staff Pharmacists fill orders for medications, monitor patient’s drug therapies and provide drug information. Staff pharmacist supervises and directs supportive staff. In the absence of the Director of Pharmacy, a staff pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the Director of Pharmacy.

Qualifications

Job Duties/Responsibilities Requirements:

• Minimum one year previous experience required. One to three years hospital experience preferred. Pyxis experience with knowledge of Pyxis reports.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy required.
• Current Pharmacist licensure in the State of California.
• CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
