Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• ASHP accredited technician training program or enrollment in a professional-related school preferred.
• 6 months experience as Pharmacy Technician or completion of ASHP-accredited tech training program preferred.
• Current CPhT certification through either PTCB or NHA and active Georgia Pharmacy Technician registration, or current enrollment in an accredited School of Pharmacy with a current Georgia Pharmacy Intern license.
• Must maintain certification and registration through entire length of employment.

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, procures, prepares, packages, and distributes and disposes medications and pharmaceutical supplies.
• Maintains an established inventory of drugs and supplies; re-orders and stocks items for immediate availability.
• Maintains competency and follows USP, DEA, and FDA guidelines when repackaging and compounding products.
• Operates, troubleshoots, monitors, and cleans departmental automation and equipment.
• Ensures pharmacist product verification and timely distribution of medications.
• Maintains accurate records and patient profiles including charging and crediting.
