Job summary

ShopRite of Somers Point in Somers Point, NJ seeks a Pharmacy Associate to deliver excellent customer experience while assisting the Pharmacist in providing medications and healthcare products. Responsibilities include processing prescriptions, cashier duties, stocking, and customer assistance.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must maintain proper state licensing or certifications.
• Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English.
• Ability to perform mathematical functions with whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to fill prescriptions with dexterity.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and tolerate dust/chemicals.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance.
• Accurately collect payments and provide correct change.
• Collect and input a patient’s information for processing a prescription.
• Assist the Pharmacist in processing a prescription, counting and labeling.
• Stock and organize pharmaceuticals as directed by the Pharmacist.
• Help customers locate over-the-counter stock and be knowledgeable about products.
• Maintain security of the Pharmacy Department and adhere to all regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow QA standards.
• Work with physicians and use reference materials to resolve issues.
