Qualifications

• Six months previous retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Professional and courteous attitude.
• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for an entire workday.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with prescriptions and ensure information is accurate.
• Communicate with insurance carriers for claims.
• Verify customer prescriptions and assist in filling and labeling.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory and assist with quality assurance.

Skills

Basic computer skills

Pharmacy program literacy

Ability to type accurately at 35 wpm

Basic pharmaceutical math

Knowledge of medication brands and generic names

Knowledge of insurance and third-party payment systems

Attention to detail

Understanding of medical terminology

Bilingual (Spanish/English)

Education

High School graduate or equivalent

State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician license

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
