Job summary

GLBHC is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists, manage prescription intake, and ensure accurate patient and insurance information. Duties include data entry, claims communication, and medication preparation in a team-based setting.

The role requires a High School diploma, Michigan technician license (PTCB/NHA encouraged), and basic computer and math skills. BLS certification and bilingual ability are valued; training will be provided. Full-time or part-time, on-site across sites.

Qualifications

• Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
• Licensure: State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician; PTCB/NHA encouraged; BLS certification required.
• Experience: Six months prior retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Skills: Basic computer skills; able to type 35 wpm; basic pharmaceutical math; knowledge of brands/generics; insurance/payment systems; attention to detail; ability to multi-task; basic medical terminology; follow instructions; bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients dropping off prescriptions and collect patient/insurance information.
• Enter prescription data and verify accuracy of patient/insurance profiles.
• Communicate with insurance carriers to obtain payment for claims.
• Assist pharmacist under supervision in dispensing and labeling prescriptions.
• Maintain inventory and place orders; check stock and remove outdated items.
• Respond to routine questions from prescribers, nurses or patients.
