Job summary

Heart of Ohio Family Health Centers in Columbus, OH is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to greet staff and patients, process prescriptions, and support pharmacy operations. You will work with Allscripts and PioneerRx, perform data entry and insurance adjudication, manage inventory, and assist in compounding under supervision.

The position requires HS diploma, Ohio Board of Pharmacy registration, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

Must be 18+ years old with HS diploma or equivalent.
Registration with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy required/trainee status.
PTCB/ExCPT certification preferred at hire.
Knowledge of the 340B program preferred.
Retail pharmacy experience preferred.
Experience with Allscripts and PioneerRx preferred.
Understanding of dispensing laws and third-party payer issues.
Ability to enter data accurately (min 45 wpm) and input prescriptions as directed.
Strong communication and telephone skills; team-oriented.

Responsibilities

Support pharmacy services by assembling and dispensing medications accurately.
Process prescriptions via paper and electronic formats.
Adjudicate prescriptions through insurance and assist with cost-saving options.
Respond to provider and patient requests by phone, computer or in person.
Maintain records in line with policy and state/federal law.
Inventory management including controlled substances and stock control.
Non-sterile compounding; ensure accuracy and safety.
Demonstrate care, resilience and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
