Position Summary

The Outpatient Pharmacy Technician is an exciting staff level opportunity at MultiCare, assisting in manipulative and non-discretionary functions of the practice of pharmacy. In this role, you will apply your organizational skills and attention to detail for successful daily work operations.

Responsibilities

• You will assist in ordering of supplies from wholesaler and direct accounts, and verify items received against invoices.
• You will store items received and assist in maintaining stock levels, to include dating and initialing invoices and/or packing slips upon receipt.
• You will enter customer medication and billing information into the computer system.
• You will answer and screen telephone calls and forward them as needed.
• You will perform extemporaneous compounding under pharmacist supervision.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by the Washington State Department of Health.
• Successful completion of National Pharmacy Technician Certification Program (preferred).
• If required to drive a MultiCare Health System vehicle, a driver’s license is required.
• Retail pharmacy experience (retail health only).

However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
