Job summary

American Health Partners in Parsons, TN is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support dispensing, admissions processing, refills, and daily workflow under a licensed pharmacist.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of pharmacy technician experience, a high school diploma or GED, and Tennessee registration. Knowledge of Framework LTC/ECM software is beneficial; this is an on-site role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of pharmacy technician experience.
  • Ability to perform essential functions with accommodations as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance per policy.

Responsibilities

  • Process and enter new admissions/readmissions.
  • Manage and enter refill orders.
  • Route all incoming fax documents to the proper department.
  • Dispensing pharmacy technician duties as needed.
  • Assist Pharmacist in mixing, packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals.
  • Pull and prepare orders including cycle fill and control substances.
  • Prepare night box inventory for weekly delivery.
  • Produce medication labels/delivery manifest for medication orders.
  • Prepare medications for delivery and end of day tote closure.
  • Prepare narcotic medication and maintain narcotic records.
  • Assist with pre-packing of medications.
  • Provide dispensing assistance under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Process daily workflow to provide timely and efficient medication delivery.
  • Assist with inventory control.
  • Attend meetings and in-services as required.

Description of Required Duties and Tasks:
Input
  • Process and enter new admissions/readmissions
  • Manage and enter refill orders

  • Maintain proficiency with computer systems

  • Maintain confidentiality of work related information and materials in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Adhere to the principles of the Employee Standards and Code of Conduct and reports any violations
  • Knowledgeable and compliant with current company policies and procedures and state and federal regulations
  • Attend meetings and in-services as required
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge
  • Work requires knowledge of the pharmacy industry, Medicaid Regulations, CMS and other state/federal regulations

  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 50 pounds
  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling
  • Work is performed in a standard office environment
  • Must have reliable transportation
Certification Requirements
  • Active Tennessee Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration required
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred.
  • Must complete continuing education in pharmacy-related topics as required to maintain certification
Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Completion of pharmacy technician program preferred
