Hy-Vee Inc in Iowa is hiring a Pharmacy Technician, Non-Certified to support pharmacists in processing prescriptions, handling insurance billing, inventory and customer service. This role offers hands-on training toward national certification and a path to grow in the pharmacy team.

You will greet customers, assist with prescription processing, verify patient information, prepare labels, and help with vaccines where permitted.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Working toward licensed technician certification through a certified national program required.
• Vaccination certification required if administering vaccines, as required by law.
• Previous experience as a pharmacy clerk preferred.

Mansioni

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and learning their names.
• Handle customer inquiries that do not require a pharmacist's expertise.
• Accept new written prescription orders and telephoned refill requests as directed by the supervising pharmacist.
• Contact doctors' offices to take or request refill prescriptions as needed.
• Gather and maintain accurate patient information required to prepare prescriptions.
• Assist pharmacists in preparing prescription drug products for dispensing.
• Prepare and affix labels to prescription containers and prepare prescriptions to be mailed.
• Submit insurance claims and assist with third-party insurance billing and troubleshooting.
• File prescriptions after they have been dispensed and report medication errors to appropriate personnel.
• Order, check in, and stock pharmacy supplies and log invoices as necessary.
