Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy department in a fast-paced retail setting.

You will assist pharmacists with prescription processing, insurance billing, customer service, and inventory, while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality and high accuracy in dispensing. This role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, active Pharmacy Technician certification, and eligibility for vaccination certification where applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified as a licensed Pharmacy Technician via a national program; maintain CE for license.
• Vaccination certification required if administering vaccines where allowed by law.
• Previous experience as pharmacy tech or clerk preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and greet customers with a smile.
• Assist pharmacists with prescription processing, insurance billing, and labeling.
• Handle new prescriptions, refills, and contacting doctors for prescriptions as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient information and confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Prepare, label, and dispense medications under pharmacist supervision.
• Process insurance claims and assist with third‑party billing issues.
• Stock and organize pharmacy supplies and manage invoices.
