Inpatient Pharmacy

Full-time, 40 hours per week

Overview

The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications. They are accountable to the supervising pharmacist who is responsible for the care and safety of patients. The Pharmacy Technician follows all applicable standards and laws for safety and care.

Qualifications

Tech I:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Actively registered or willing to submit application with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy by first day of work, including fingerprinting for FBI background check
• Preferred but not required: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience
• Complete pharmacy department orientation
• Skills include proficiency with pharmacy equipment, automation technology, and troubleshooting

Tech II:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Active registration with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy
• Required: 1-year pharmacy experience; 2 years preferred
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by PTCB
• Same skills as Tech I, with proficiency in pharmacy automation and workflow management

Tech III:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Active registration with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy
• Required: 2 years pharmacy experience, including IV compounding and hazardous medication handling; 3 years preferred
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
• Mastery of pharmacy procedures, customer contact, automation, troubleshooting, and flexibility to float to other locations
