Inpatient Pharmacy

Hours/Schedule: PRN - As Needed

Overview

The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications. They are accountable to the supervising pharmacist, who is responsible for patient care and safety. The technician follows applicable standards and regulations to ensure the safety of customers and patients.

Qualifications

Tech I:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Active registration with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willingness to apply by first day
• 1-year relevant pharmacy experience preferred but not required
• Successful completion of pharmacy department orientation
• Skills: proficiency with pharmacy equipment, automation technology, troubleshooting, and working under time constraints

Tech II:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Active registration with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy
• 1-year relevant pharmacy experience required; 2 years preferred
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
• Skills similar to Tech I, with proficiency in pharmacy automation and workflow management

Tech III:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Active registration with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy
• 2 years relevant pharmacy experience, including IV compounding and hazardous medication handling; 3 years preferred
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
• Advanced skills in dispensing, compounding, patient contact, automation, troubleshooting, and ability to float to other locations
