Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Pharmacy Technician certification/licensure as required by State regulations.
• One year of pharmacy technician experience preferred, but not required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Receives prescription or refill requests and verifies information for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepacks for floor distribution, fills bottles with prescribed medications and applies labels.
• Answers phones and directs inquiries to appropriate departments.
• Maintains proper storage and security conditions for drugs.
• Assists facilities by answering questions or directing to the pharmacist for information.
• Maintains patient profiles and medication lists.
• Orders and counts stock, enters inventory data into pharmacy systems.
• Receives and stores supplies, checks invoices, notes shortages.
• Mixes pharmaceutical preparations per written prescriptions.
• Supports location and department goals and complies with regulations and safety standards.
• Performs duties with a friendly, team-oriented approach.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Associate degree preferred

Pharmacy Technician as required by State regulatory requirements
