Job summary

HomeTown Pharmacy is seeking a motivated Long-Term Care Pharmacy Technician. The position offers a board-approved Technician Program so you can EARN while LEARN and become a licensed Pharmacy Technician for the state.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, supporting multiple departments and delivering quality service to customers. Training and development are provided to help you grow professionally.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team to meet pharmacy service goals.
• Greeting customers and delivering quick, efficient service.
• Enter patient information accurately for billing.
• Maintain a safe environment by following health codes.
• Coordinate with Delivery, Dispensing, Data-Entry, and Billing.
• Understand generic and brand drug names and terminology.
• Know prescription legal requirements and patient records.

The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented, able to multitask, and enjoys working with customers. A successful Pharmacy Technician enjoys working with others in an effective manner, strives to always improve themselves, who is flexible and adaptable, provides quality service to customers, and understands what it means to be professional.

As a Pharmacy Technician, your typical day would include:

• Working as a collaborative team member to meet the service goals of the pharmacy
• Create a welcoming environment by greeting all customers and providing quick and efficient service
• Accurately enter patient information into the pharmacy database to assist with proper billing
• Maintain a safe pharmacy environment by adhering to health code guidelines and corporate standards.
• Working knowledge of all departments: Delivery, Dispensing, Data-Entry, Billing, and answering to the supervisor within each of those Departments.
• An understanding of pharmacy terminology including both generic and brand name drug names
• Knowledge of legal requirements for prescriptions
• Knowledge of Medical Record Information
