Job summary

UW Health Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for per diem shifts. Work at 1401 E State St with opportunities for evening, night, and weekend differential, on-call pay, and overtime.

The role supports hospital operations, including unit dose distribution, non-sterile compounding, and use of automated dispensing systems. Licensure in Illinois required; technician certification within 2 years of first license issued is required.

Work Schedule

Per diem, varying shifts, you will work at UW Health Swedish American Hospital 1401 E State St.

Additional components of compensation may include
  • Evening, night, and weekend shift differential

Qualifications

Work Experience
  • No minimum experience required.
  • Hospital experience in unit dose distribution, compounding non-sterile medications, and automated dispensing machine technology. Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
  • Current licensure from the State of Illinois. Candidates without a license may work in this role for 60 days from date of license application through Illinois Department of Professional and Financial Regulation. Those enrolled in an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy are exempt from certification requirements, but will need to obtain a "Pharmacy Technician- Student Designation" license from IDFPR. Required
  • Completion of Pharmacy Technician Certification within two (2) years of date license was first issued. Required
