Job summary

Witham Health Services in Indiana is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support all pharmacy services. Responsibilities include entering physician orders, using pharmacy automation, preparing sterile IVs, and assisting with billing and inventory. Candidates must achieve Pharmacy Technician Certification within 1 year of hire and hold Indiana license.

Job Summary:

Performs technical support of all Pharmacy services, which require development of skills to complete a Pharmacy Technician Certification program and become licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Indiana. A Pharmacy Technician will need to be able to effectively function within all areas of Pharmacy operations including the development of competencies to interpret and enter Physician orders / prescriptions into computers, accurately utilize Pharmacy automation technology as well as some manual systems to provide optimum drug distribution, safely prepare sterile IV preparations, perform Pharmacy billing / crediting functions, manage drug inventory and distribution, be able to problem solve, communicate effectively and assist the Pharmacist where needed.

• High School diploma or GED required plus a combination of training and work experiences which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge, and abilities listed in this position description.
• Indiana State Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Tech In-Training license required.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA) required within 1 year of hire.
• Must be 18 years of age and have a high school (or equivalent) diploma.
