Job summary

Witham Health Services is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support all pharmacy services. This role focuses on entering physician orders, operating automation, and assisting the pharmacist in a busy hospital setting in Indiana.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, Indiana license or in-training status, and certification within 1 year (PTCB or NHA). Candidates must be 18+ and comply with all regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Interpret and enter physician orders into computer systems.
• Utilize pharmacy automation technology and some manual systems to distribute drugs.
• Safely prepare sterile IV preparations.
• Manage pharmacy billing / crediting and inventory control.
• Assist the Pharmacist and communicate effectively to resolve issues.

Job Summary:

Performs technical support of all Pharmacy services, which require development of skills to complete a Pharmacy Technician Certification program and become licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Indiana. A Pharmacy Technician will need to be able to effectively function within all areas of Pharmacy operations including the development of competencies to interpret and enter Physician orders / prescriptions into computers, accurately utilize Pharmacy automation technology as well as some manual systems to provide optimum drug distribution, safely prepare sterile IV preparations, perform Pharmacy billing / crediting functions, manage drug inventory and distribution, be able to problem solve, communicate effectively and assist the Pharmacist where needed.

• High School diploma or GED required plus a combination of training and work experiences which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge, and abilities listed in this position description.
• Indiana State Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Tech In-Training license required.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA) required within 1 year of hire.
• Must be 18 years of age and have a high school (or equivalent) diploma.
